About The Novice Chef

The Technology Student Association’s Website Design competition challenges middle school students to create a website each year. This year’s challenge was to develop a site for middle and high school students featuring an interactive element and recipes tailored specifically to them.

We embraced this challenge by expanding our focus beyond just students to include anyone who doesn’t regularly cook for themselves. Through our research, we discovered a strong need for fundamental cooking skills, which shaped the direction of our project.

On The Novice Chef, you’ll find simple recipes, helpful cooking techniques, bonus content, and a collection of resources that supported our website development. Our site was built using WordPress to ensure accessibility and ease of use.
